It was a night of baleful dreams when
The town woke up to a booming thud
Shortly after, tapping on the roof tiles;
Gristle hale and rain of blood.

Something crashed into the hillside
Covering the town in gore debris
Gelatinous heaps of flesh
What a grisly sight to see

Seeped into the soil beneath it
Boring in a carcass pit
Underneath the scorching Sun
Stench it began to emit

From that day the life of the town
Turned into a living hell
In their dreams something unearthly
Like cancer, began to swell

The shape of something distant
With a disarming voice
'Come to me' it whispered
'Join me and rejoice'
Wide smiles of relief
Spread on the dreamers' lips
Willingly walked into its trap
Their hearts were now transfixed

Dozens arose from their beds
Malign whispers in their heads
Somnambulating towards the pit
Their lives to it they will submit

Once upon a time there was
A town hidden among the hills
Now it’s crumbling, rotting slowly
Radiating sickly chills

When the night falls shambling horrors
Crawl out to the streets to feast
Somnambulists, touched by the blight,
Turned into these nightmare beasts

Once their loved ones, now they’re just prey
Hiding and surviving still
No escape, their numbers waning,
Living their last days in fear

In the flesh fiends still lives on
The consciousness they used to be
Mouthless, screaming, pleading as they
Maul their loved ones limb from limb

Under heaps of rotting meat
The fleshpit bores into the soil
Veiny tendrils twisting, tangling
Like an ophidian coil

As its veins spread wide
In the fertile, porous earth
Meaty flowers sprout like fingers
Puncturing the dirt
When the nightfall comes
They sing in an eerie voice
‘Come to me’ they sing
‘Join me and rejoice’

I really cant pick a favorite track, this whole album kicks so much ass with its intensity and ferocity from beginning to end. Definitely a new favorite artist. Really gives off Necrophobic vibes with the melodies and atmosphere. Andrés Salas

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
