Ephemeral spawn, undeterred
Instinct drives it to breed,

Host caught then paralyzed
Entering through their pleading eyes
Proboscis reaches deep
Putting them into sleep

The intruder wins, gestation begins,
Immune system fails, nerves fire madly
Victim awakes, feverishly shakes
Pain then subsides, abhorrent thoughts emerge

Parasitic lifeform breeds, taking over
Insidious alien tadpole, growing stronger
A thing from a world so alien, inscrutable
Breached the membrane between worlds

Urging the host to ceaselessly move and mingle

Bringing forth mankind’s downfall

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
